Aegina

Very close to Athens, Aegina has many hidden bays to swim and important antiquities to discover. Some truly lovely beaches, a picturesque town, a quaint seaside promenade and the home island of the pistachio nut that has been cultivated in Aegina for almost a century. Be sure to pick up a bag or two to take with you, or try the other local, artisan pistachio products such as spreads and nut bars.
